I love Seattle! I grew up here, and after graduating from the University of Southern California & University of Oregon School of Law, I returned to Seattle to begin my legal career. For six years prior to jumping into the full service real estate industry, I worked as an attorney focusing my practice on real estate related litigation.
Why I'm a Broker:
I caught the real estate bug at an early age. Growing up in the Seattle area, my family moved rather frequently, as my parents were constantly compelled by a new, different property – whether due to its architecture, style, lot size, location. My parents enjoyed remodeling, the financial benefits their hard work could bring when it came time to sell & they didn't seem to mind the hassles associated with moving. Thus, my childhood memories involve touring homes all over the Eastside (which I actually enjoyed!) The frequent relocating did have its drawbacks; but through all the moving, I developed a strong understanding of Seattle's varied neighborhoods and a deep appreciation for architecture & design. At age six, when touring homes with my parents, I would declare nearly every property as a ‘tear down'. While my eye for seeing the potential in ‘less than perfect' properties has greatly improved since my six-year-old self, my love of all things real estate related remained. Fast forward many years later: my Mother was looking to relocate yet again, at a time when the Seattle market was extremely competitive. During that six month journey, countless tours & numerous offers, I saw first hand that in order to have a successful transaction, it is crucial that buyers have a skilled real estate agent: an agent who is sharp, knowledgeable, thorough, dedicated, personable. And, I had reached a professional turning point – as I realized that by becoming a broker, I could pursue my longstanding passion for real estate, but also utilize my legal experience to better serve my clients.
My Experience – How it Helps:
My legal experience is an invaluable tool that I use everyday while helping clients. I spent the majority of my legal career specializing in the defense of institutional lenders in title disputes & real property matters. During this time, I became an expert in the 'behind the scenes' home buying process – reviewing title reports, researching property records, curing defects in title & working with banks during the lending process. On a daily basis, I tirelessly negotiated the resolution of lawsuits on behalf of my institutional clients. How my legal experience now translates into helping my buyer & seller clients: as a trained title expert, I can review a title report, understand what it means & spot potential hazards – as a former bank attorney, I have an in-depth understanding of the lending process & how to best navigate the home financing process – and having spent years resolving lawsuits with aggressive opposing counsel, I'm able to be just as tough when it comes to negotiating on behalf of my current real estate clients.
Prior to representing lenders in real estate disputes, I practiced association law, where I represented condominium & homeowner associations. Thus, I'm knowledgeable about all the major concerns of condominium buying & selling – resale certificates, special assessments, association management, new construction litigation & collection matters. Due to my unique knowledge of condo law, I can help prospective buyers spot the buildings that might be 'risky' from an investment standpoint – and can efficiently help owners with the nuances when it comes times to sell.

Residing on a houseboat on Lake Union, I spend much of my free time relaxing on the water, paddle boarding, running around Lake Union & exploring Seattle's food scene.
